Stormtroopers are the soldiers of the Empire. If you have ever seen Star Wars films, you may have noticed the poor aim of the Stormtrooper. Have you ever wondered why the Stormtroopers have such a bad aim?
The pitiful aim of the Stormtrooper can come from a variety of theories. The most popular being the helmet’s poor design. The lack of eyesight given in a Stormtroopers helmet is noticeable in multiple Star Wars films. In Episode 4, A New Hope, Luke Skywalker said he couldn’t see a thing in this helmet and in Star Wars Rebels, Season 2 Episode 9, Stealth Strike, you could notice Captain Rex struggling to hit his targets while wearing a Stormtrooper’s helmet. Rex then says,”This helmet, I can’t see!” and takes off his helmet and shoots perfect shots. Another theory or reason could be the lack of training. Because the number of Stormtroopers is over a billion, excluding other variations of troopers, the Empire must cut down the time to train each Stormtrooper. Additionally, the Empire took infants from their parents and converted them to Stormtroopers at a young age. Fans also suggest that the Force can also mess with the Stormtroopers’ aim.
The Stormtroopers’ aim might be bad, but Stormtroopers sometimes hit enemy soldiers. This may be because the opposing soldiers are outnumbered, attacked unexpectedly, or a Stormtrooper that overcomes the challenges above exists. Either Way, it is fun laughing at their horrendous aim!
