We have seen many lightsabers in Star Wars, and each tends to come in a variety of colors such as blue, red, green, and even purple. All of these colors represent something, but have you ever seen an orange lightsaber? Orange lightsabers were wielded by Baylon Skoll and Shin Hati from the Ahsoka television series, and Cal Kestis from the video game Jedi Fallen Order. But what does the orange lightsaber represent?
An orange lightsaber can mean many things. Orange lightsabers, like any other lightsaber, are powered by crystals. A lightsaber crystal can determine the color of your lightsaber. Most lightsaber crystals are found in caves, but a few such as orange lightsaber crystals aren’t necessarily found in caves. In some scenarios, they are transformed. When a Jedi turns to the dark side, they bleed their crystal. Bleeding means putting all of your anger, hatred, and dark energy into the crystal, making it as red as blood. Some dark side users don’t put all of their dark energy into the crystal, not making it completely red, but instead orange. This could mean a Jedi hasn’t completely abandoned the Jedi code. In canon, the orange lightsaber indicates balance, creativity, and singularity. Alternatively, in legends the lightsaber means balance in both the dark and light sides of the force.
Orange lightsabers are one of the most unique lightsabers in all of Star Wars. If you had a lightsaber, would it be an orange one?
